Pastoral Care and Counselling

Shepherding people with wisdom, Scripture and genuine compassion.

Short description

About this unit

Pastoral care is the everyday work of walking alongside people in joy and in sorrow. This unit prepares you to visit the sick, comfort the grieving, counsel the troubled and guard your own heart while carrying the burdens of others. You will study biblical principles of care, learn when to refer to professional help, and practise real conversations in a safe setting.

What you will cover

  • Listening well and asking good questions
  • Visiting the sick and comforting the bereaved
  • Boundaries, confidentiality and self-care
