Course Unit F

Basic Pastoral Care

Care for people with wisdom, warmth and the right boundaries.

Short description

About this unit

Ministers spend much of their time caring for people. This unit teaches the basics of pastoral care: how to listen well, visit the sick and comfort the bereaved, pray with someone in need, and offer simple biblical counsel. You will also learn the limits of your role and when to involve a senior leader or a professional, so that people are cared for safely.

What you will cover

  • Listening and visiting well
  • Praying and comforting others
  • Knowing your limits and referrals
